Neon Signs

  • Uses real glass tubing.
  • Gives off a more softer, warmer, vibrant look vs LED
  • Generally more expensive
  • More potential for breakage due to the glass tubing
  • Higher maintenance compared to LED
  • Runs hotter and uses more energy than LED

LED Signs

  • Has become the go to option for many businesses especially for affordable open LED signs.
  • Gives off a more constant glow look vs the software, warmer glow neon gives.
  • More lightweight than neon
  • Have zero hotspots
  • Generally at least 10% cheaper than neon
  • Huge energy savings oftentimes saving you 70% or more in energy costs
  • Shock proof and gives off little heat
To sum it up, LED lights are more energy efficient and are being used more and more in businesses especially as the technology advances. Neon signs are a great choice for restaurants or bars who want that warmer, vibrant light glow and high end glass tubing look. Think beer signs in a bar or custom neon signs in a more upscale restaurant.

A lot of people consider a neon sign a form of art vs LED which is used more to showcase a company name or open sign. Neon is considered to be more elegant compared to LED which is considered to be more crisp or industrial type looking.
