Neon VS LED - Which Is Better?

We here at sell both neon and LED signs but a lot of our customers don't fully understand the differences. We are hoping this article will shed some light on the two types allowing you to make a more informed decision based on your needs.

Neon Signs

LED Signs

  • Has become the go to option for many businesses especially for affordable open LED signs.
  • Gives off a more constant glow look vs the software, warmer glow neon gives.
  • More lightweight than neon
  • Have zero hotspots
  • Generally at least 10% cheaper than neon
  • Huge energy savings oftentimes saving you 70% or more in energy costs
  • Shock proof and gives off little heat
To sum it up, LED lights are more energy efficient and are being used more and more in businesses especially as the technology advances. Neon signs are a great choice for restaurants or bars who want that warmer, vibrant light glow and high end glass tubing look. Think beer signs in a bar or custom neon signs in a more upscale restaurant.

A lot of people consider a neon sign a form of art vs LED which is used more to showcase a company name or open sign. Neon is considered to be more elegant compared to LED which is considered to be more crisp or industrial type looking.
